Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

Costs and Payments

  • How much does a personal driver cost?

Hourly rates for a standard sedan typically range from $50 to $100 per hour. For full-time drivers, monthly costs can range between $3,000 and $10,000.

  • What factors affect the price?

Total costs are influenced by the trip's distance, vehicle type, length of service, and any additional requirements like multi-city stops or pet transport.

  • Do I need to tip?

While not mandatory, a gratuity of 15-20% of the total fare is standard practice. Some services include gratuity automatically in the final quote.

  • Are there hidden fees?

Some companies charge extra for fuel, tolls, airport fees, or "wait time" during multiple stops.

Safety and Reliability

  • How are drivers vetted?

Professional services typically conduct nationwide background checks, DMV driving record reviews, and drug screenings.

  • What licenses and insurance are required?

Drivers should hold a valid commercial driver's license and be covered by a commercial insurance policy. Many services provide coverage for your vehicle while their driver is operating it.

  • What happens in case of an accident?

Reliable companies have liability and workers' compensation policies to protect you from being held liable if a driver is injured or causes damage.
